In the immediate aftermath of the General Election, we ask what needs to happen to tackle the housing crisis and what does London need the new Government to do? With the crisis is deepening by the day, consensus is building around the need to ‘build social’, regulate the private rented sector and more. This event is run by Just Space and CPRE London who have recently jointly published an Action Plan for the Housing Crisis.

Speakers:

  • Sem Moema: Sem was elected as the London Assembly Member for North East London – which includes Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest, in 2021. She is Labour’s lead on housing at the Assembly, spearheading campaigns on renters rights, more support for mortgage holders, and crucially, building more homes in the capital for social rent.

  • Josh Ryan-Collins, Josh is Professor in Economics & Finance, UCL, focussed on macroeconomic policy, sustainable finance, land & housing. He is author of Why can’t you afford a home?
