Time & Location

The march will take place between 1 and 5pm, as we march from Park Lane to Parliament Square in protest. Exact meeting point TBC!

About the event

The 3rd November marks 100 days since the new government took power. While it has inherited the problem of unsafe, unclean water, scarce water it is critical for us to maintain pressure to ensure that they take it seriously and deliver the needed legislation as soon as possible. As we all know, time is not on our side, and we cannot afford for this issue to roll over into the next parliament session.

The March For Clean Water will emphasise the urgency of the matter, appealing to a broad and diverse section of the public, bringing together a number of supporters and famous faces (including some surprising ones!).

This peaceful rally aims to channel the need for urgency and collaboration and hope, as well as a reminder that if we don't see immediate action then we will be back in larger numbers. This will be accompanied by local engagement with MPs with more specific asks to ensure we generate significant national and local impact with legacy.

Your support

With your help, we want to bring together a broad and diverse section of the public, including those outside the environmental sector, to put on a creative spectacle of speeches, stunts, music and artwork that the government can’t ignore.

Although a London based event, we know this is an issue that affects us all across the UK. The presence of community groups from across Britain will ensure the march has a wide-reaching legacy by simultaneously targeting the government as well as specific constituencies to ask for local solutions.

On the call we will discuss how you can get involved, and, critically, understand how groups like yours might be able to mobilise supporters to flood the streets of London, what opportunities there are to locally apply pressure, any spokespeople who might support, and any stories that we can celebrate.

The project is currently being managed by River Action, and we welcome any support you might be able to bring. We look forward to seeing as many of you next Tuesday, to hear your feedback and to hopefully work on this exciting endeavour together.
